The Conference follows the highly successful June 2008 event which brought together over 250 financial sector representatives from the Gulf and their City of London counterparts.
The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Ian Luder, has kindly agreed to give the Opening Address at the Conference. Keynote speakers, including government ministers will examine latest trends in the GCC and London markets. Interactive panels will then debate:
- GCC economies during the global downturn – prospects for renewed growth;
- Regulatory and risk management lessons from the global credit crunch;
- Development of financial sector skills in the region – partnership opportunities;
- Global impact of Islamic finance and insurance – London & GCC synergies.
Senior financial sector representatives from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are being invited to address the conference and participate in the panel discussions.
As in previous years, this conference will be an excellent and high-level networking opportunity and will showcase the GCC and London financial services sector. The rapid development of new financial centres across the Gulf has created new challenges and opportunities for City of London and GCC cooperation.
Registration is now open and early bird rates apply before 1 May 2009.
